Glasses do need to be well cared for though, and we offer a full warranty and free cleaning service to help you with this.

Durability

Frames are made from many different materials these days, for reasons of both aesthetics and durability.

We have titanium, stainless steel and acetate (plastic) options, as well as frames that have embellishments made from wood and leather.

Many frames have spring loaded hinges that allow a bit of 'give' in the side area.

And our frames are generally lightweight so are very comfortable to wear.

Scratch Resistance / Lens Coatings

Different coatings can be applied to the lens surface to improve scratch resistance and reduce reflections.

The coatings are also hydrophobic (water repellant), repel dust and smudges, and are easier to clean.

They also improve visual comfort and image contrast. Anti-reflection coatings are particularly helpful when driving at night, working on a computer, or under any source of light glare. Cosmetically they also eliminate unsightly glare seen by others when wearing the glasses.

Photochromic lenses (e.g. "Transitions") change from clear indoors to dark outdoors. They work by reacting to sources of UV and give wearers 100% UV protection. The new generations are fast to activate and fast to fade back.

We sell pairs of glasses for as little as $89 for frame and lenses. The price very much depends on your frame choice and prescription. We have a large showroom of frames - from recognisable branded models to package deal options - so there is something for everyone.

Can I come back with my wife on Saturday morning, or take the frames home on approval?
It can be difficult finding the perfect frame without some family input so here's what we do to make it easy for you...

• We can take photos of you wearing different frames and display the photos on screen. This allows you to see what they look like on your face, and compare different frames objectively.
• We can email those photos to you so you can get feedback from your partner before you make your final decision.
• We can hold frames aside for you so you can come back with your partner.
• Or you can take a selection home.
