 Gary FilerOPTOMETRIST - DIP OPT Gary Filer has been a practicing optometrist since 1978. He's dedicated to ensuring the highest standard of patient care, supported by the very latest technology. Gary's specialist area of interest is contact lenses, with a particular interest in complicated contact lens fitting and Keratoconus. |
 Andre RyanDISPENSING OPTICIAN Andre is a qualified dispensing optician who has also completed a degree in Bio-Medicine at Auckland University and is soon to complete a Doctorate of Optometry through Melbourne University. Andre has had 7 years of optical dispensing experience and has a great eye for choosing just the right frame. |
 Brenda FilerADMINISTRATOR Brenda is responsible for the administration of all practice matters and for the Diabetic Photoscreening programme. With her wealth of experience in business accounting she has a vital role in the smooth running of the practice on a day to day basis. |
 Bryre MurphyOPTOMETRIST - DIP OPT Bryre has practiced optometry since 1997, and has been part of the Gary Filer team since 2001. She is interested in paediatric and therapeutic optometry, high myopia and complex spectacle prescriptions. She has also enjoyed being part of several VSO (Volunteer Service Overseas) Eye-Care Teams providing eye care in third world countries. Bryre also works part time at the Auckland Hospital Eye Department and is studying ocular therapeutics at Auckland University. |

 Jess MadridOPTICAL ASSISTANT Jess joined the team in 2009 bringing with her over 2 years of dispensing experience and a passion for helping patients to choose the best eyewear possible. At present she is studying to qualify as a dispensing optician. Since joining the practice Jess has become an experienced spectacle lens technician complementing the team in our in-house lens laboratory. |
 John HawkinsDIABETIC PHOTOSCREENER - DIP OPT John qualified as an optometrist in 1975. He was a partner in a large city practice for ten years. John left optometry to pursue other challenges for a number of years but returned to join Gary Filer Optometrist in 2006. He currently manages the Diabetic Retinal Photoscreening Service run by the practice on behalf of the Counties Manukau DHB. |
 Rivka ThomasDISPENSING OPTICIAN / PRACTICE MANAGER - FBDO Rivka is a UK qualified dispensing optician. As practice manager she focusses on maintaing the highest standards of patient care and service. Rivka has additional qualifications in spectacle lens fitting which, combined with her in-depth knowledge of frames and lenses, ensures patients receive both the best advice and total quality assurance. |
 Tania FordeDISPENSING OPTICIAN Tania qualified as a dispensing optician in 2000. She has extensive experience with all aspects of frame and lens selections and is focussed on offering the best possible advice to our patients. |
 Vanisha PatelRECEPTIONIST Vanisha joined us in 2009 from an extensive background in the travel industry. She brings a strong focus of customer service and care to the role. She is also has a key role in the administration of our Counties Manukau DHB Diabetic Screening programme. |
